Strike 97

If God went on strike!
What in the world would we do?
The Sun would go out,
The Moon lose her light,
The Day turn to night,
And Heaven be out of reach.

If God went on strike!
No-one would know who was who.
All joy turn to doubt,
All wrong and no right,
All quarrel and fight,
And Heaven is out of reach.

If God went on strike!
Nothing in life would be new.
Greed, hate all about,
Illness would be rife,
Wickedness and strife,
And Heaven far out of reach.

Strike 97

If God went on strike!
Ah! tears would come falling through.
God would give a great shout!
And, "Let there be Light"
Sung again from the height
And Heaven would be in our reach.

Moral.

A lesson to man
Don't think you are God
Give up all trouble and strife
Forget all your greed
And see that we need
Heaven, to be in our reach.
